
The Navruz holiday was celebrated on April 14 at the House of Friendship of Peoples in Ulan-Ude, the press service of the government of Buryatia reports.
The Assembly of Russian Peoples of Buryatia presented family traditions of Navruz at the festival.
The president of the regional section of the Assembly, Sazhida Batalova, welcomed the guests.
“We are a very multinational and multi-religious republic, so of course we have something to show. We live in peace and harmony. In our “Street of Good Neighbors”, which will now take place on the first and second floors of the House of Friendship of Peoples, there is always warmth, kindness and a lot of joy in the soul.”– she said.
For the guests, photographic areas were set up where they could be photographed in national costumes and headdresses. An ethnotour was held for those present, in which representatives of national cultures: Kazakhs, Tajiks, Tatars, Poles, Koreans, etc. They gave master classes and gave them their national dishes, in addition to talking about the customs and traditions that are celebrated on this day.
The children’s program was held in the assembly hall of the House of Friendship of the Peoples. The little participants were able to play Turkish village games. An exhibition of children’s drawings and crafts “Navruz Family Traditions” was also organized here.
At the end of the holiday, the “Navruz Melodies” concert took place: little artists from the “Bell” kindergarten performed for the guests. They performed folk dances in national costumes. Members of the creative group of the House of Culture that bears the name. AP Vagzhanov presented the beauty of Russian culture and performed songs in his native language. During the concert, films about the traditions of the celebration were shown, one of them dedicated to the ancient ritual of the Turkish peoples “Karga botkasy – rook porridge”.
The diasporas of the People’s Friendship House prepared gifts for the children with oriental sweets. The organizers donated part of the decorations to the concert participants, the other part to the children of military families participating in the Northern Military Region.
Let us remember that Navruz is the holiday of the spring equinox and the beginning of a new agricultural year among the Persian-speaking and some Turkic-speaking peoples of Kazakhstan, Central Asia and Asia Minor, Iran, as well as among the Bashkirs and Tatars. . Nowruz means “new day” in Farsi. Navruz symbolizes the renewal of nature and man, the purification of souls and the beginning of a new life.
