The activities of French President Emmanuel Macron were evaluated negatively by the majority of French people, according to a survey conducted by the French Institute of Public Opinion (IFOP), the French newspaper Sud Ouest writes on April 15.
In France, people are used to periodically evaluating the activities of this or that politician. But most of the time the focus of attention was the French head of state. And this time the sociologists decided to find out the attitude of the French towards Macron during the last two years after his re-election as President of the Republic.
As a result, an Ifop poll published on April 15 showed that almost three-quarters of French people expressed dissatisfaction with Emmanuel Macron’s actions after his re-election. In his opinion, this manifested itself especially negatively in the economic and social sphere. Only 26% of French people were satisfied with the actions of the President of the Republic during the last two years, and 74%, according to them, were dissatisfied.
In fact, the head of state’s record was evaluated as predominantly negative in all sectors. The French were particularly tough on the economic and social fronts, with 88% negative on measures to reduce deficits, 84% on purchasing power and 77% on pension reform.
Even his fight against terrorism was viewed critically by the French: 57% did not see any success in it. In relations with the EU: for 59% it did not bring any benefit to the country. And in relation to social life, 69% of those surveyed were dissatisfied with them.
