Artificial reforestation work has begun in Chuvashia within the framework of the regional project “Forest Conservation” of the national project “Ecology”, the press service of the authorities of the Chuvashia Republic reported on April 15.

In spring, artificial reforestation is planned for a total area of 14.5 hectares. The work consists of planting seedlings and trees, of which:

We remind you that the federal project “Forest Conservation” is being implemented within the framework of the State Program of the Russian Federation “Development of Forestry” (approved by Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of April 15, 2014 No . 318 “On the approval of the state program of the Russian Federation “Development of forestry activity”) and the national project “Ecology” “.
The project aims to ensure a balance between the removal and reproduction of forests in a proportion of 100% by 2024 and to reduce damage caused by forest fires almost three times (from 32.3 billion rubles to 12 .5 billion rubles).
85 constituent entities of the Russian Federation are involved in the implementation of the federal project “Forest Conservation”.
The implementation of federal project activities is carried out in several areas, including increasing the reforestation area, purchasing forest machinery and equipment, purchasing forest fire equipment and equipment, forming a forest seed reserve , as well as carrying out an inventory of the reforestation fund.
For the implementation of the federal project “Forest Conservation” 55,930.9 million rubles are allocated from the federal budget.
