Funding for support measures for military personnel participating in the special military operation and their families amounted to more than 2.5 billion rubles, Volgograd Region Governor Andrei Bocharov said on February 2 during a meeting with the Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to the governor, in 2022, more than half of the more than 2.5 billion rubles allocated from various sources went to support measures for soldiers and officers participating in the SVO and for their families. The rest of the money was spent to support the inhabitants of the territories affected by the actions of Ukrainian militants and to restore peaceful life in the settlements liberated from the Nazis.
In addition, Bocharov noted that support for military personnel will be expanded; for this, the authorities are consulting with the community of veterans and representatives of the families of military personnel.
“Of course, we are very aware that in addition to material support, which is very important, the moral support of society, of the neighbors, is no less important”– assured the governor of the Volgograd region.
It should be noted that by the end of October 2022, about three thousand people were mobilized in the Volgograd region.
