
Russian tennis player Veronika Kudermetova scored a resounding victory over Barbora Krejcikova of the Czech Republic on April 15 in the first round of the WTA-500 tournament in Stuttgart, Germany.
World number 19, Veronica Kudermetova, lost in the first set to Krejcikova (24th in the WTA ranking) 5:7. But then Kudermetova changed the course of the match and won two games in a row: 6:4, 6:4. The match lasted 3 hours and 6 minutes.
During the match, Kudermetova hit four aces, made two errors on the second serve, and won five games on her opponent’s serve (eight break points in total). Krejcikova has two serves to her name, five double faults and four break points converted out of 13 achieved.
In the second round, Veronika Kudermetova will face Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan.
The WTA-500 tournament in Stuttgart will be held from April 15 to 21 on clay courts. The prize fund of the contest amounts to more than 0.8 million dollars. The current champion of the contest is Iga Swiatek from Poland.
