Regional authorities ordered the heads of municipalities located in the flood zone of the Ishim River to begin an urgent evacuation of the population. The governor of the Tyumen region, Alexander Moor, wrote about this on April 16 on his Telegram channel.
The head of the region, after a meeting at the operational headquarters to prepare for the flood, wrote in his chat that “Roshidromet’s forecast is unfavorable. The Ishim River’s rising water will be even higher than it was according to the data we received in early April. “The heads of districts and cities located in the flood zone were instructed to organize an urgent evacuation of the population from the probable flood zones.”
According to information from the Tyumen Central State Medical University, a branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution Ob-Irtysh UGMS, the water level in the Ishim River can reach 1170 centimeters. At the same time, the department notes that residents living in flooded areas have been individually notified of the danger.
Let us remind that since April 8, a state of emergency has been declared in the Tyumen region. The most tense situation with the release of water in the floodplains of the region’s rivers is expected on April 20, with a peak between April 23 and 25. To eliminate the consequences of the flood in the Tyumen region, a brigade consisting of more than 12 thousand people and more than 2.6 thousand pieces of equipment was formed.
In addition, to inform the population about emergency situations, there is a single hotline number 122, an SMS messaging system, and the Flood72.rf website has been launched.
