Spring floods in the Rostov region are developing as usual, flooding is not expected, Alexander Savukov, deputy head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for the Rostov region.
“Our spring leash is carried out periodically, as part of long-term observations. According to the forecasts provided to us by Rohydromet, we do not foresee any exit beyond the alluvial plain of the river and the flooded areas.”– said Savukov.
He explained that in winter there was moderate snowfall in the Rostov region and now precipitation is moderate. Therefore, the flooding period will pass without incident.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations keeps the situation under control and monitors the water level in the rivers. However, in the future everything will depend on the weather. In particular, today there is a surge of water in the Azov region.
“I think everyone remembers last fall when we were flooded and we all responded quickly and provided assistance. We are prepared for this risk. “It doesn’t happen cyclically, it happens because of the weather.””Savukov clarified.
