Isaac Herzog has met the British Foreign Secretary and his German counterpart on a support visit following Iran’s retaliatory attack this Saturday.

“Thank you for the firm stance of the United Kingdom and Germany in supporting Israel in the face of Iran’s reprehensible attack. Everyone must work decisively and defiantly against the threat posed by the Iranian regime, which seeks to undermine the stability of the entire region “Herzog said in a statement after the meeting.
“Israel is unequivocal in its commitment to defend its people,” added Herzog, who reiterates his country’s commitment to returning the 129 hostages who are still in the Gaza Strip after more than six months of war, and to continue “advancing and improving” humanitarian aid to the Gazan civilian population, despite the fact that it has not yet occurred, as denounced by the UN.
This Monday, Cameron stressed the importance of Israel not “intensifying” tension in the Middle East and asked it to think “with both its head and its heart,” according to statements to Radio Times.
The head of British diplomacy also stressed that Israel should consider the success of the defense against Iran’s drones and missiles as a victory.
“The best thing to do in the case of Israel is to recognize that it has been a failure for Iran,” he added.
For his part, Baerbock traveled to Israel yesterday with the purpose also of promoting de-escalation and the use of diplomatic channels, and declared that the “unprecedented” attack by the Iranian regime had “placed the entire region on the brink of the abyss” and demonstrated that Iran is not interested in peace in the region.
