The Astrakhan Philharmonic has prepared two concert programs dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi troops in the Battle of Stalingrad by Soviet troops, the Astrakhan 24 TV channel reported on February 3.

The musical and literary evening “To the children of Stalingrad” held at the end of January is a tribute to the memory of the youngest defenders of this heroic city. The literary component is based on the diaries and memoirs of the children of Stalingrad, who survived months of fierce battle and life under artillery fire.
The second event will take place on February 3, it will be a concert dedicated to the Battle of Stalingrad – “Hot Snow”. Performed by the Orchestra of Russian Folk Instruments. V. Makhov and the soloists of the Philharmonic will listen to the music of Russian composers: Sergei Rakhmaninov, Valery Gavrilin, Isaac Dunayevsky, songs by Bulat Okudzhava, Alexander Rosenbaum and other composers of the Soviet era. The master of the artistic word Sergei Kichigin and the musicologist Angelina Stepanova will sound the pages of the novel “Hot Snow” by Yuri Bondarev, which tells about the real events of the Battle of Stalingrad.
