Representatives of trade unions in Angola announced this Thursday in Luanda that workers will go on strike again, from April 22 to 30, due to the lack of government response to the demands made, in fact, for the renewal of wages.
According to trade union representative Teixeira Candido, due to the lack of responses to demands and proposals, as well as the “predisposition” on the part of the government to “find solutions”, workers will move to the second phase of the interpolated general strike.
Teixeira Candido, secretary general of the Union of Angolan Journalists (SJA), recalled that negotiations between the parties have been ongoing since December 28, 2023, in response to the statement of demands presented to Angolan President João Lourenço in September. last year.
