Israel has launched an attack on Iran, US television reported, and official Iranian television reported “massive explosions” in Isfahan province (center).
North American television channel ABC News reported, citing a US official, that Israel launched an attack on Iran in response to Iranian fire on Israeli territory.
The information comes after Iran reported “heavy explosions” in Isfahan province (centre) and after Israel announced its intention to respond to Iranian attacks early on Sunday.
The Israeli army said it was not commenting “at the moment” on the explosions recorded this Friday.
“We have no comment at this time,” an army spokesman said after Israel vowed to respond to Tehran’s unprecedented attack over the weekend.
Iran’s air defense has already stated that it “successfully shot down” several drones this Friday, but assures that there is “yet” no information about a possible missile attack.
“So far there have been no air strikes outside of Isfahan and other parts of the country,” Hossein Dalirian said.
However, the Iranian news agency IRNA reported that no significant damage was recorded after the explosions that occurred in the country overnight.
“After the activation of air defense in certain regions” of Iran, “no significant destruction or explosions were recorded,” the agency writes.
