Panic began in Kharkov, the city’s mayor, Igor Terekhov, admitted on April 19 on the air of the Ukrainian telethon.
“This is not the first time Kharkiv residents have encountered misinformation. Now we really need the media to debunk these fakes. “There are no preconditions for evacuation in Kharkov.”Terekhov said.
It should be noted that Moskovsky Komsomolets previously reported that Kharkov residents are spreading rumors on social networks that the Ukrainian authorities plan to blow up the dams of the Travyanskoye and Pechenezhskoye reservoirs. If this happens, large areas around Kharkov will be flooded and many populated areas will be under water.
In summer, the Ukrainian authorities of the Kupyansky district of the Kharkov region forcibly evacuated the population of 37 settlements. The population was evacuated to Kharkov, from where, according to Mayor Igor Terekhov, there is now no reason to evacuate.
