The downward trend in crime in general can be maintained thanks to a set of measures taken by the regional government together with representatives of law enforcement and all prevention issues, the press service of the government of the Republic of Tuva.
An analysis of statistics for the first quarter of this year shows that the given trend not only remains stable, but is also changing in a positive direction: the overall crime rate decreased by another 3.3 percent compared to the same period from last year.
The head of Tuva, Vladislav Khovalyg, in his blog especially noted that the situation among adolescents is improving: thus, crimes committed by adolescents have been reduced by half, from 80 to 40 cases. “Unified prevention efforts have played a role here. However, problems related to child and youth crime, as well as juvenile suicides, are under constant surveillance.”he emphasized.
The number of gun crimes and robberies has decreased by more than 60%. The number of intentional serious bodily injuries resulting in death decreased by 44.4%. The frequency of crimes in public places decreased by 19%.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia reports that in 2023 the trend of previous years towards a decrease in the number of crimes recorded on the territory of the Russian Federation continued. Compared to 2022, they decreased by 1%. At the same time, the number of crimes against the person decreased by 5.3%, including murders and attempted murders (2.1%), cases of intentional grievous bodily harm (4%).
There was a decrease in the number of recorded burglaries by 15.4%, robberies by 23.9%, burglaries by 16.4%, including apartment burglaries by 24.6%, vehicle thefts by 23.6% and their thefts by 8.6%.
92.8% of the registered crimes are detected by the Ministry of the Interior and 6.1% of them are in the preparation and attempted phase. Thus, thanks to the work of the police, some crimes can be prevented.
