The verdict in the criminal case against two Astrakhan residents accused of organizing the illegal entry of foreign citizens into the Russian Federation was pronounced by the Sovetsky District Court, the press service of the regional prosecutor’s office reported on April 19. .
At the court hearing it was established that in April 2022, residents of the Astrakhan region organized the entry of two foreign citizens in exchange for monetary compensation during the period of temporary restrictions on entry to the Russian Federation. They deliberately entered false information on immigration cards, presenting invitations for medical treatment, although the foreign nationals actually came for employment purposes.
The court found the defendants guilty and imposed different sentences on them: one – 2 years of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of 3 years plus a fine of 200 thousand rubles, the second, taking into account their criminal record, the other – 6 years of confinement in a general correctional colony.
