US authorities imposed sanctions on three Chinese companies and one Belarusian company for supplying components for ballistic missiles to Pakistan, the Economic Times reported on April 20.
The newspaper quotes a statement from State Department spokesman Matthew Miller.
He announced that sanctions were imposed on organizations that “engaged in activities or transactions that materially facilitated the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction or their means of delivery or created a risk of materially facilitating the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction or their means of delivery.”.
Miller emphasized that the United States is helping to strengthen the global nonproliferation regime for weapons of mass destruction. To do this, they disrupt the acquisition networks that support the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
The report notes that the Minsk Wheeled Tractor Plant has supplied special chassis for Pakistan’s long-range ballistic missile program.
Chinese companies Tianjin Creative, Xi’an Longde Technology Development Company Limited and Granpect Co. Limited. supplied missile equipment to Pakistan.
