Russia agreed on the price of Russian gas for Belarus in 2023 at the level of last year, calculated in rubles. This was announced to journalists on February 3 by the head of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, Nikolai Shulginov.
It should be noted that, from April 2022, Belarus began to pay for gas in Russian rubles, while the new price set was not made public. According to the contract concluded at the end of 2021, the gas price for Belarus in 2022 would be $128.52 per thousand cubic meters.
On December 20, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko announced that Russia would set the gas price for Belarus for three years.
Recall that earlier the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that in the course of negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Moscow and Minsk developed a common approach to actions in the international arena. He added that the two countries always meet halfway, and that “today there is not a single issue that has not been resolved.”
