The local command of the Marine Police (PM) of Ponta Delgada in the Azores discovered several violations on board five fishing vessels on the island of São Miguel after an inspection, as announced this Saturday.
According to the Prime Minister, we are talking about “lack of documentation on board, lack of sizes of vests or flotation devices” and “failure to comply with safety measures.”
The Prime Minister also noted “the lack of a radio operator’s license, signaling and identification of fishing gear.”
As part of the initiative, five vessels, four professional fishing vessels and one recreational vessel were inspected, with the Prime Minister collecting four reports and the operation involving three members of the Prime Minister’s local command of Ponta Delgada, supported by one vessel.
