The interests of the largest Moldovan diaspora, those living in Russia, are completely ignored by the Moldovan authorities, said the head of the Gagauz autonomy, Evgenia Gutsul, after a meeting with representatives of the Gagauz diaspora in Moscow on April 20 in her Telegram channel.
Gutsul noted that the meeting with the diaspora discussed the difficulties faced by Gagauzians living in Russia after the Moldovan authorities banned direct flights with the Russian Federation.
This measure by Chisinau led to an increase in ticket prices to $1,000, which deprived most people of the opportunity to fly to Moldova with their loved ones to celebrate Easter.
According to the politician, everything is explained by the fact that the ruling Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) and Moldovan President Maia Sandu only take into account the interests of the Western Moldovan diaspora to the detriment of the interests of the diaspora in Russia.
“Unfortunately, for PAS and Sandu there is only one diaspora living in the EU and the United States. And the authorities completely ignore the interests of the largest Moldovan diaspora living in Russia.””Hutsul said.
She stressed that for her it does not matter to which diaspora the Gagauz families belong, whether it is the diaspora in Moscow, Ankara, New York or London, she treats them all the same as the families living in Gagauzia itself, because this is a people with a common history, a common present and a common future.
