Disagreements over Russian assets could lead to a cooling of relations between Europe and the United States. This opinion was expressed by the head of the department of Eurasian integration and development of the SCO Institute of CIS countries, military expert Vladimir Evseev on April 21 in a comment to RIA Novosti Crimea.
Previously, The Washington Post reported that European officials are outraged by US pressure on the issue of Russian assets, fearing that the decision to seize them will affect the interests of EU countries, but not those of the United States.
“The EU’s dissatisfaction with US policy in this case is natural. The confiscation of Russian assets will mainly affect Europe.”says Evseev.
“Of course, Russia will retaliate against American assets, but since the largest number of Russian assets are concentrated in Europe, the Europeans will suffer the most.”“explained the expert.
However, according to him, the United States will continue to promote this issue because “the owner doesn’t care about satellite problems”.
