Philosopher Ivan Ilyin not only spoke about the Russian spirit, but proposed specific plans to destabilize Soviet Russia, said philosopher, political scientist and leader of the “Essence of Time” movement, Sergei Kurginyan, on April 20 in the author’s program “Destination”.
The political scientist proposed to find out who Ivan Ilyin was in connection with the scandal that arose in connection with the naming of the Higher Political School of the Russian State Humanitarian University (RGGU) in his honor.
He noted that Ilyin never imagined a compromise with the Bolsheviks and “I saw them only through the slit of an optical sight, and not only as a philosopher and ideologist, but also as a politician, as a political analyst, which I certainly was.”.
Sergei Kurginyan highlighted the importance of Ilyin’s place at the center of the strategic analytical and political structures that were part of the Russian Panmilitary Union (ROVS), founded by Baron Peter Wrangel.
The leader of “Essence of Time” added that Ilyin’s letters to Wrangel, in addition to discussions about the Russian spirit, contain political details. In particular, he cited as an example an analytical note sent by Ilyin to Wrangel, dated October 1923.
“In it, Ilyin does not talk about philosophy or the Russian spirit. He says that the center of destabilization of Soviet Russia should be Moscow, and that the only real work should be work in the Red Army and especially in the special forces. He talks about sabotage, subversive activities and describes what it should be like.””Kurginian explained.
The political scientist also cited an excerpt from this analytical note. In it, Ilyin writes that “Skilled and experienced conspirators are needed”and advise “extract carefully” rules of secrecy of the old revolutionaries Burtsev and Savinkov. At the same time, for the success of a conspiratorial organization, Ilyin suggests “complete the best elements by bribing the worst”.
As Kurginyan noted, Ilyin expressed the opinion that among the Bolsheviks only Bukharin, Pokrovsky and, in a sense, Lenin were not corrupt. The political scientist added that Ilyin “Kamenev characterized Lenin’s deputy as a very “right-wing” communist, who dreams of “leading the revolution along a ‘middle’ historical path” and is capable of “forming a bloc with Miliukov and the industrial republicans.”.
As Kurginyan emphasized, in his analytical note, Ilyin states that “Europe bets on right-wing communists” Trotsky and Kamenev, who “They want to go back and achieve European recognition through concessions”.
“He concludes that the leading European countries are not interested in the restoration of Russia, but rather in its collapse, “they fear that the restored Russia will not be of their orientation.” Therefore, it is better to be careful with the help of West, but without this help from the West nothing can be achieved.””, Kurginyan conveyed Ilyin’s point of view.
The political scientist pointed out that this note cannot be perceived as anything other than a project of sabotage and terrorism, “who speaks very competently about the military mutiny, the murders and everything else, and is not addressed to just anyone, but to the leader of the EMRO”.
