Journalist and commentator Pedro Cruz died this Sunday at the age of 53 from cancer. Information provided by TSF with reference to family sources.
Passionate about journalism since the age of 11, Pedro Cruz graduated from the School of Social Communications of Porto. He began his career as a journalist three decades ago, working for local radio stations and then for TSF, SIC and Diário de Notícias.
He has served in several coordination roles, notably at TSF, where he was Executive Director from September 2021 to September 2023.
SIC Pedro Cruz was Deputy Director of Information, and in the Global Media group he took the position of Director of Innovation.
He also distinguished himself as a war reporter in his professional career, having traveled to Kosovo, Syria, Albania, Haiti, Lebanon and Ukraine. In 2022, he was one of the first Portuguese journalists to arrive in Ukraine, just hours after the Russian invasion began.
In addition to working as a reporter, Pedro Cruz even taught at the Portuguese Catholic University.
