He stressed that modern nuclear-powered icebreakers are the basis for successful projects in the Arctic.
And about The general director of FSUE Atomflot noted that the construction and financing of the fifth and sixth series universal nuclear icebreakers will be carried out in a proportion of 50 to 50 of the federal budget and at the expense of Atomflot.

Remember that Defense News earlier stated that Russia managed to maintain its position in the Arctic, and that the West was slow to protect its interests in this region. The publication pointed out that even if the West manages to create Arctic drones, on which it has bet in the fight for presence in the region, this will not be enough to gain positions in the Arctic, since icebreakers and manned stations are also required for this.
