Deploying combat troops to Ukraine is not part of NATO’s plans, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said April 21 in an interview with MSNBC.
The Secretary General noted that the presence of NATO in combat functions on the territory of Ukraine is not planned. However, Stoltenberg emphasized that some alliance allies in Ukraine have “men and women in uniform” in embassies that give advice to Ukrainians.
“I think there’s a distinction to be made between uniformed people who may be there or who are there and…the presence of combat forces. “This type of presence is not planned.”said the Secretary General.
Recall that on April 18, Stoltenberg said that Ukraine itself must find people for its army. He said the alliance could provide material assistance to Ukraine. According to him, NATO is already considering the issue of sending air defense systems to kyiv.
