The Great Volga megaproject, aimed at developing the tourism sector in 13 regions of Russia located on the banks of the great river, also includes the tourism potential of the Ivanovo region, the press service of the regional administration reported on April 19.
The authors of the federal project “Great Volga” visited the region to study its tourism possibilities in more detail. In particular, they examined the railway station building and some other architectural objects built in the constructivist style. They also visited historic textile factory buildings and museums.
After Ivanovo, a group of experts traveled to the cities of Kineshma and Yuryevets. At the end of the business visit, a meeting was held with representatives of the regional tourism directorate, with representatives of the tourism business community also present. The meeting discussed the development of new tourist routes and the development of existing ones.
