Bulgarian CEC determined the number of mandates in individual districts

Bulgarian CEC determined the number of mandates in individual districts

The number of mandates in individual constituencies for early parliamentary voting on April 2 was determined by the Central Election Commission on February 2, Bulgarian National Radio reports.

For the number of deputies per district, data from the last statistical census were used.

Sofia will delegate a total of four more deputies to the next Popular Assembly.

In the 23rd multi-mandate district, three mandates will be added, which will be transmitted by only 19 people’s deputies, and in the 24th district there will be one more.

Varna and Plovdiv added one deputy each.

Instead, the Dobrich, Lovech, Montana, Pazardzhik, Pleven and Ruse regions will receive one less deputy.

The amount of the payment of the precinct commissions for the April 2 elections has been determined.

The chairmen of these commissions will receive 250 leva each, the vice-chairmen and secretaries – 225 leva each, the other members – 195 leva each.

An additional 40 leva will be allocated to the members of the district election commissions who will deliver the electoral protocols and documents to the district election commissions.

These rewards are not subject to taxes and insurance.

The Central Electoral Commission also approved a draft Government resolution on the approval of the Chart of Accounts for the elections.

It is expected to be made public tomorrow at the first meeting of the new caretaker government.

The Council of Ministers agreed to provide video surveillance on election day and the provision of screens at polling stations, after the legislator abolished the so-called “dark rooms” with reforms to the Electoral Code.
