The Chinese hockey club Kunlun Red Star, which plays in the KHL, will continue to play home games in Mytishchi in the 2024/2025 season, the team’s press service reported on April 23.
It should be noted that the Mytishchi Arena stadium will continue to be the headquarters of the Chinese club for at least one more season.
Recall that previously Kunlun executive vice president Nikolai Feoktistov stated that next season the team could start playing home games in China.
Let us also remember that Kunlun Red Star was formed in 2016 specifically to compete in the KHL as the first Chinese team in the league.
Initially, Kunlun played home games in China, but since the end of the 2019/2020 season, when the coronavirus epidemic broke out in the world and many countries closed their borders, the team began to play home games in Russia.
