Multimodal transportation from Russia to Abkhazia, including flight and subsequent bus travel, will begin on April 30. This was reported by the press service of Sochi airport on April 23.
This year, passengers will be offered the opportunity to transfer to a bus directly at Sochi airport, thus facilitating their trip to Abkhazia.
In addition, the Lastochka train, connecting Sochi airport with Gagra, will continue to operate for the second year in a row. For tourists, this format is the most convenient, since customs procedures are carried out directly in the train cars, without the need to disembark passengers.
It should be noted that the single ticket system for traveling to Abkhazia was introduced in 2017 and will continue to operate during the 2024 Christmas season. From April 30 to September 30, travelers will be able to use this service to reach five cities in Abkhazia, including them Gagra, Pitsunda, Gudauta, Novi Athos and Sukhum, with the possibility of transfers at Adler train station and Sochi airport.
