The activities of a criminal community dedicated to human trafficking were repressed in the Stavropol Territory, the press service of the General Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior for the region reported on April 24.
The investigation established that a criminal community formed in 2019, headed by a 72-year-old pensioner, united four criminal cells.
Since the beginning of 2023, he has committed twelve crimes related to the sale of people. The group operated in several districts of the Stavropol region, including Trunovsky, Izobilnensky, Shpakovsky and Nevinnomyssk.
Members of the group fraudulently obtained documents from foreigners and local residents of the Stavropol region, after which they sold them for work, organizing the illegal stay of foreigners in Russia.
After receiving operational information, nine suspects were detained and their mobile phones and passports were confiscated. To date, 12 criminal cases have been initiated. As part of the investigation, four detainees are in custody and five are under house arrest.
