Unpredictability and the potential for conflict in international relations have increased, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said on April 24 at the plenary session of the 12th international meeting of senior representatives responsible for security issues.
“Today, the unpredictability and potential for conflict in international relations have increased markedly”– said Patrushev.
According to him, as Russian President Vladimir Putin said earlier, this is largely due to the transition to a multipolar world, which provokes rejection and opposition from individual states seeking to maintain their hegemony.
“As a result, there are trends towards the devaluation of international law and its institutions, the erosion of the central role of the UN in the resolution of global and regional conflicts”– said Patrushev.
He noted that international security is affected by both old and new conflicts, from which no country can remain aloof in the conditions of modern information technologies.
“Russia will continue to defend the creation of a just world order that responds to the interests of the majority of countries, based on the principles of equality and respect for cultural and civilizational identity”stated the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.
It should be noted that the 12th international meeting of senior representatives responsible for security issues is being held in St. Petersburg under the auspices of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.
