The decision to ban the priest of the Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos Dimitry Safronov from service for three years was made by Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, the press service of the Moscow diocese of the Orthodox Church reports. Russian April 23.
The decree of April 15, 2024 states that a cleric of the Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos on Lyshchikova Hill in Moscow is exempt from obedience and is prohibited from serving in the priesthood for three years without the right to wear a cassock and a cross priestly.
Safronov was sent for three years as a psalm reader to the Moscow church of Saint Pimen the Great in Novye Vorotniki. At the end of this penance, he will make a decision about whether to continue his priestly service.
