The Kremlin cannot interfere in the situation with the detention of the head of the Chechen Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alikhan Tsakaev, stated the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, RIA Novosti reports on April 24.
As Peskov explained: “This is not the prerogative of the Kremlin, it is the prerogative of the relevant bodies responsible for road safety and other bodies, so the Kremlin cannot interfere in this.” _
Recall that earlier the head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov, said that the incident occurred at the Dagestan federal checkpoint. In turn, the General Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the North Caucasus district, in connection with the incident at the Gerzel checkpoint between Chechnya and Dagestan, stated that “The offender was driving in the opposite lane, resisted arrest and dealt several blows to law enforcement officers; the results of the inspection will be sent to the Investigative Committee.”
However, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, called the incident a provocation, since all actions against Tsakaev were carried out without explanation, despite the fact that he did not commit a serious violation.
It should be noted that the Russian Interior Ministry explained the results of the investigation into the incident with Tsakaev. According to the department, the offender, whose name and surname was not provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, was driving a car in the oncoming lane, refused to show documents to traffic police officers, swore and tried to escape.
