Russian President Vladimir Putin demanded on April 24 during a videoconference meeting that the victim assistance system be put in order.
The president was outraged by the information about the number of people who received financial assistance in the Orenburg region.
“In the Orenburg region, more than 400 thousand applications for financial assistance from affected citizens were accepted and 46 thousand were issued. Just over 10%. And in all regions the same thing happens in percentage terms. Why is there so little? – asked Vladimir Putin.
In response, the governor of the Orenburg region, Denis Pasler, said that not only residents of the flooded areas submit applications, but this caused even greater discontent with the president. “Do you serve people who were not in the flood zone? But then why do you accept these statements?!”– he was indignant.
According to Putin, if a declaration has already been adopted, then there should be a reaction. The President demanded that order be established in the victim assistance system and that residents understand who has the right to what.
It should be noted that during the month of April floods caused flooding in more than 30 regions of Russia: in the Volga region, the Urals, the Far East and Siberia, but the most difficult situation developed in the Tyumen, Orenburg and Kurgan. . In these regions, a total of more than 14 thousand residential buildings and around 30 thousand pieces of land were flooded.
