The Kazakh language will eventually become the language of interethnic communication, stated Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on April 25 at the XXXIII session of the People’s Assembly of Kazakhstan.
He noted that it is necessary to instill in society intolerance to discrimination based on language, culture or religion. The Head of State also called for moderation on the linguistic issue, taking into account internal and external factors.
“But this does not exclude greater attention to the comprehensive development of the state language, which over time, I am sure, will become the language of interethnic communication”Tokayev added.
According to him, this process has already begun. At the meeting, prizes will be awarded to those who have achieved success in the development of the state language.
Let us remember that on April 16 he called the fight against the Russian language stupid, noting with regret that in some countries this is practiced. At the same time, “language patrols” did not stop in Kazakhstan for a long time, during which activists demanded that employees in the service sector speak Kazakh.
