Following the emergency closure of airspace over southern Norway, aircraft movement is allowed, but the schedule has been altered, NRK reported on April 25.
Airspace over all of southern Norway was closed on the morning of April 25 due to a technical error at the Avinor Aviation Control Center in Oslo. The error affected all airports in the district. This caused delays across the country.
Three hours later, at 9:45 a.m., the agency announced that the error had been corrected and the airspace would progressively open to traffic. Kristiansand’s Kjevik Airport remains crowded due to delayed flight arrivals.
“All the planes waiting to take off in the morning have already taken off from Kievik. Flights that were due to arrive during the day are now delayed. “There are still many passengers here who will return on these flights to Oslo or Bergen.”said airport director Arne Johan Johnsen.
According to the manager, the situation will normalize over time and those responsible for the airport hope to return to normal in a few hours.
