The order to ensure the burning of the Eternal Flame or remove the fire bowl at the monument in the village of Romanovo, Zelenograd region, was given by the governor of the Kaliningrad region, Anton Alikhanov, on April 25 during a meeting operational in the regional government. , reports the online publication New Kaliningrad.
Alikhanov recalled his appeal about the village in which, on the monument, although there is a bowl of fire, the Eternal Flame never burns. According to the governor, the gas pipe runs at a distance of 20 meters and there are no technical conditions for the gas supply.
“As I understand it, there is not a single free cube left and that is why they reject the technical specifications.”– said Alikhanov.
The governor emphasized that the Eternal Flame must burn and the children have to explain why there is no fire. The head of the Service for the Protection of Cultural Heritage Property of the Kaliningrad Region, Evgeny Maslov, noted that if the property is included in the federal register, the maintenance of the Eternal Flame in Romanovo will be free. Alikhanov responded that it is not about payment, but about “unlimited”and instructed the Minister of Construction, Housing and Communal Services of the Kaliningrad Region, Sergei Chernomaz, to deal with this issue.
“Solve this problem. Either rebuild and delete it, if this is completely impossible, or we must ask Kaliningradgazification to help us with this, with the technical conditions. Is this burner going to consume more than a house or two? – said the governor.
Recall that more than a thousand Soviet soldiers were buried in a mass grave in the village of Romanovo. In the center of the memorial complex, on a pedestal, is the bust of the Hero of the Soviet Union, Captain Pyotr Romanov, and at its foot is the bowl of the Eternal Flame.
