For the first time, shipments of wheat were sent to Venezuela from the Kaliningrad region, the press service of the Rosselkhoznadzor regional board reported on the official Internet portal on April 25.
“For the first time, 30.5 thousand tons of food wheat were exported to Venezuela on ships from the territory of the Kaliningrad region”the message said.
Specialists from the Rosselkhoznadzor Office of the Kaliningrad region inspected the batches and took samples. Employees of the Kaliningrad branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “ARRIAH” conducted laboratory tests and verified that the regulated products fully comply with the phytosanitary requirements of Venezuela. A total of five phytosanitary certificates were issued for food wheat.
Recall that in 2023 about 650 thousand tons of grain were harvested in the Kaliningrad region, while the region’s needs are 460 thousand tons of grain. Including more than 455 thousand tons of wheat. Previously, consumers of Kaliningrad wheat were mainly Northern European countries, but after the start of a special operation to denazify Ukraine, it was necessary to change the structure of exports.
