The section of the M-4 Don federal highway from Kamensk to the town of Persianovsky will have six lanes by 2026, the press service of the government of the Rostov region reported on April 25.
Large-scale reconstruction of the M-4 Don in the section km 933 – km 1024 will begin in 2024. Completion is planned for 2026.
“It will be a six-lane highway along its entire length from Kamensk-Shakhtinsky to the village of Persianovsky in the Aksai region”says the message.
Today the highway has four lanes. Given the current traffic intensity, this is not enough. Furthermore, in some areas the proportion of freight transport reaches 50%. At the same time, traffic intensity increases every year.
In the reconstruction of the road, efforts will be made not to restrict traffic, maintaining four lanes. For this, four temporary bridges will be built, as well as many areas where temporary roads will be created or existing ones will be expanded.
“The only thing is that we will limit the speed, since this is a construction site, but the area will be small, so the loss of time will also be small.””explained Viacheslav Petushenko, chairman of the board of directors of the state-owned company Avtodor.
In turn, the governor of the region, Vasily Golubev, described the reconstruction of the route. “state level project”.
