The escape from the PSP ended with the suspect opening fire on agents and being shot in the buttock after firing two warning shots Tuesday night in Lumiara in Lisbon. The man was hospitalized but was in police custody. Once you are discharged, you will be officially detained.
The incident occurred at 21:50 when two men in a car disobeyed orders to stop in Alameda das Linhas de Torres. After a few meters they were stopped, but they ran out of the car and tried to leave on foot.
At this time, while pursuing PSP agents, one of the fugitives pulled out a pistol and shot at the police. In response, officers fired two shots into the air, but the armed suspect continued to point his weapon. And it was at this time that the third shot, fired by one of the agents participating in the intervention, hit the fugitive in the buttock.
The man who was shot was unable to continue his escape and his friend was arrested shortly after. They could be charged with attempted murder of law enforcement officers. Since there were victims of gun violence, the investigation was transferred to the judicial police, who discovered a 6.35 mm caliber casing early yesterday morning and seized the weapon. Initial evidence points to a clear case of self-defense. The escape was allegedly motivated by possession of illegal weapons.
