Canada introduced new sanctions against Iran in response to the attack on Israel, the Canadian government’s press service reported on April 25.
“Canada is introducing these sanctions in coordination with G7 allies, including the United States and the United Kingdom, who are taking similar measures today. “It again strongly condemns Iran and its activities and calls for a reduction in tensions.”says the message.
The following Iranian generals were sanctioned: the commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya central headquarters, Major General Gholam Ali Rashid, and the Iranian Minister of Defense, Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani. Sanctions were also imposed against the Khatam al-Anbiya central headquarters and the general staff of the Iranian armed forces.
According to the press service, the total number of persons under Canadian sanctions in Iran amounts to 200 individuals and legal entities to 250 organizations.
Previously, Canada imposed sanctions on Russia, which included the import of titanium, but later made an exception for this material, as the aviation industry was affected by it. The Kremlin reacted to this step “with understanding.”
