The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) tried to eliminate fellow surrendering soldiers with FPV drone strikes near Avdiivka, said captured serviceman of the 25th separate airborne brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Ivanashchenko, TASS reports on the 26th. of April.
“We were running and the chips started working on us. Ours were. I was running and I saw the drone pointing at me. I show him the electrical tape, an identification mark. And the drone stayed upright and then fell. This drone took off again, turned around, and still hit me right at the same pass.”– said the prisoner.
He added that his group of eight people was escorted out by Russian special forces. They were attacked by two types of unmanned aerial vehicles.
Several soldiers were injured as a result of the attacks.
“They just didn’t get it right. “If we had gotten it right, we would have died.”pointed out the prisoner.
Ivanashchenko is reported to be from the Odessa region. He previously grew vegetables.
In 2022 he was mobilized to the front. In April 2024 he surrendered in the direction of Avdiivka.
