Ukraine’s High Anti-Corruption Court detained Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Nikolai Solsky, Ukrainian publication Economic Truth reported on April 26.
“Judge VAKS agreed to the request of the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and applied a preventive measure to Solsky in the form of detention for a period of 60 days”– indicated in the publication.
According to journalists, the minister illegally seized state lands with a total area of 2,493 hectares. The cost of this land is about 7.3 million dollars (675 million rubles).
It should be noted that, in addition to the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, suspicions in the case of land transactions also fell on his deputy, Markiyan Dmitrasevich, who is now on a business trip abroad. Solsky himself does not admit his guilt.
