The Independent Union of Doctors (SIM) announced this Friday that the protocol to begin negotiations with the government will be signed in May, hoping that the calendar for improving the working conditions of doctors will be completed this year.
At the end of the first meeting with Health Minister Ana Paula Martins at the Ministry of Health in Lisbon, SIM Secretary General Nuno Rodrigues said that he had requested that a negotiation protocol be concluded by the end of the year.
“This was the first presentation meeting of the Minister of Health, and we at least managed to actually implement the schedule for the next month to formalize the protocol of negotiations,” which should “meet expectations, be transparent and bring peace of mind” to doctors so that they know what they can count on in the coming years.
