The solemn meeting of Nikolai Sobolev with the participation of Vice President of the Government of Yakutia Georgy Stepanov took place on April 26 at the Yakutsk airport, the press service of the head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the government of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) reports.
Georgy Stepanov congratulated Nikolai Sobolev on his arrival in Yakutsk. He noted that in Yakutia there are more heroes.
“This shows that the republic is a reliable outpost of our great multinational country. Today Yakutia receives the Hero of Russia Nikolai Sobolev, our young soldier, awarded the highest award of the Fatherland. From the beginning of the special military operation, he was at the forefront of the fight against fascism. Nikolai is an example of bravery, patriotism and love for the Fatherland, which our youth should admire.”said the Deputy Prime Minister.

Recall that on July 1, 2022, during the offensive operations near the village of Dolgenkoye, having discovered the enemy and assessing the possible nature of his actions, Major Sobolev decided to use the battalion’s assault groups to attack the most vulnerable places of the enemy’s defense.
During the battle, enemy positions were captured, while units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost about 50 people, which contributed to the division’s advance towards the enemy defenses.
On August 14, 2022, the officer was tasked with destroying the enemy in Sherwood Forest. Major Sobolev personally led the eight-person assault group. He decided to carry out a lightning attack.
29 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were killed and 18 wounded, the remaining enemy forces of 400 people abandoned their positions. Secret documents on the location of command posts and planned enemy actions were discovered at the positions.
From September 21 to 23, 2022, in the area of \u200b\u200bthe village of Koroviy Yar, the battalion under the command of an officer carried out a combat mission to contain superior enemy forces. The battalion’s troops successfully carried out defensive actions and prevented the enemy’s advance. At the end of the third day, the enemy, using large reserves, managed to surround the battalion.
For five hours, the battalion’s troops repelled enemy attacks and only after receiving the task of escaping the encirclement, they broke the encirclement with an ultra-fast launch, suffering minimal losses.
On April 17, 2023, in the area of the Kremennaya village, the battalion was attacked by large enemy forces. Thanks to skillful command and well-constructed defense, as well as the faith of the personnel in their commander, the battalion again did not flinch and repelled the attack, allowing neighboring units to resist the enemy’s attack.
On July 5, 2023, the officer secretly introduced the battalion personnel into the battle in small groups.
Having personally led one of the groups, he went out to the enemy flank and inflicted a fire defeat, during which the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were suppressed and suffered losses of up to 30 people.
