Accused of stealing and raping a woman in Porto registered

The Prosecutor’s Office (PO) has charged a registered suspect with robbing and raping a woman in Porto in October 2023, the Prosecutor General’s Office for the Porto Region (PGRP) announced on Friday.

In a statement published on its website, PGRP said the April 19 indictment charges the accused with crimes including aggravated robbery, kidnapping and rape, and that he is also requested to be convicted as a repeat offender.

The crime occurred on October 11, 2023, in the late afternoon in the city of Porto, when the victim was about to get into his car parked on a public road.

According to the indictment cited by the prosecutor’s office, the defendant approached the woman and, using a firearm, forced her to get into the car, hand over her wallet and mobile phone and start driving, giving her sequential directions along the route. track.

According to PGPR, at a certain point during the trip, the accused took the driver’s seat, going to an ATM, where he demanded that the victim withdraw and return the amount of 250 euros, subsequently leaving for another part of the city. , where he purchased and used drugs, always keeping the victim at risk.

“Then, under the pretext of delivering the victim to the original location, while remaining behind the wheel of the vehicle, he drove her to a motel park in Gondomar and subjected her to sexual acts, after which he eventually released the victim in the area where he initially approached her,” says the same note.

The PGRP also states that the defendant, who is in custody following these actions, has a criminal record for theft and other crimes for which he served two prison sentences and has been on probation since May. 2023.
