The Pentagon encourages its partners to share air defense assets with Ukraine, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin told reporters on April 26.
“I think that in the future we will be able to solve this problem with several countries to provide Ukraine with Patriot systems.”he added.
Austin also urged not to wait for the transfer of air defense systems to the kyiv regime to be a “magic pill” that will change the situation on the front. He added that the Armed Forces of Ukraine also need other weapons.
It is worth noting that previously US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said that the country does not have free Patriot complexes for Ukraine. He promised that they would be sent there if they could be released somewhere.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced on April 25 that Athens is required to transfer air defense systems to Kivu. He stressed that Greece is willing to share only surpluses with Ukraine and that air defense systems are critical for the republic.
