The subordination of the Russian military-industrial complex to the state allows it to rapidly increase its capabilities, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said at a briefing on April 26.
When asked how Russia fared “Effectively restore your war machine” Austin stated: “Its entire defense industry is responsible to the State. So it makes it a little easier for them to do it a little faster.”.
According to the head of the Pentagon, Russia also received help from Iran and North Korea, without which the Russian military industry would have been “in a much less advantageous position”.
It should be noted that on April 25, Politico reported that the Pentagon had signed contracts worth $6 billion with defense companies, but that this military equipment could only be delivered to Ukraine in a few years.
Recall that of the $60.64 billion that the American administration decided to allocate to Ukraine, $23.2 billion will go to replenishing American military reserves. In addition, $13.8 billion will be spent on arms purchases for Ukraine and $11.3 billion on “Current US military operations in the region”. At the end of December, US President Joe Biden approved the US defense budget for 2024 in the amount of $886 billion.
