Servicemen of the detachment to combat sabotage forces and means of the Baltic naval base of the Baltic Fleet conducted an exercise to destroy and detain underwater saboteurs of the mock enemy, the Department of Information and Communications of the Ministry of Defense reported. of Russia on April 26 on the official Internet portal.
The soldiers of the detachment practiced the exercise in two groups. One of them acted as a saboteur, while the second had the task of preventing sabotage operations and detecting and destroying the DRG of the conventional enemy.
According to the plan, during the duty shift of the observation post in the area of the ships’ base, moving underwater objects were discovered. Combat alert was declared, surveillance was put on ships, technical equipment and weapons were made available.
Patrol boats were sent to the area where the objects were located. The soldiers of the detachment, using boat equipment, discovered the saboteurs, the capture group went into the water and destroyed part of the “enemy” sabotage group. Several “saboteurs” were captured and taken ashore.
During the training match, the servicemen practiced throwing anti-sabotage hand grenades and practiced underwater combat techniques using special SPP-1 underwater guns, APS underwater assault rifles and edged weapons. More than 50 military personnel participated in the event, “Rook” type anti-sabotage boats, fast boats, special equipment and robotics were used to control the underwater situation.
