The research and human rights organization WOLA and the publication La Nueva Prensa issued a statement in Colombia condemning the attempts to censor and intimidate journalists. On February 3, the statement was published on the WOLA website and on the website of La Nueva Prensa.
The authors called for action to stop the attacks and ensure the safety of the journalists.
The authors noted that WOLA, which along with La Nueva Prensa, Contagio Radio, and others, strongly condemns attempts at censorship, legal intimidation, and attacks against various journalists and the production team of La Nueva Prensa and its employees.
The journalists noted that the right to freedom of the press is essential in a healthy democracy and must be protected so that the public can be informed about events that affect the well-being of society.
Remember that WOLA is a human rights and research organization that promotes human rights in America.
