Iran and Cuba have agreed to establish twinning relations between the two main ports of each country to facilitate maritime transport and trade. IRNA reported this on April 27.
The decision was made during a meeting on Saturday between the Iranian Minister of Highways and Urban Development, Mehrdad Bazrpash, and the Cuban Minister of Transportation, Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila. The meeting took place in Tehran.
“The Cuban side has requested to use the capacity of Iranian ports and shipping companies to export its products and transport its cargo. “That’s how it was agreed”Bazrbash said after the meeting.
The two sides reportedly agreed to establish twinning relations between the two main ports of Iran and Cuba so that Cuban economic entities and shipping companies can benefit from Iranian ports.
The meeting was dedicated to strengthening cooperation in the field of maritime, air and rail transportation between Iran and Cuba.
