2023 has become a year of serious problem of anti-doping rule violations due to banned substances in biologically active additives (BAA), Veronika Loginova, director general of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA), told TASS on April 28.
Loginova noted that never before have so many violations been recorded due to contaminated additives. There have been many cases where athletes used the same supplement and were later found to contain banned substances.
Loginova said the agency is counting on the help of law enforcement officials to resolve this issue. She recommended that athletes not take any biological supplements.
They do not agree with this, but RUSADA cannot act alone as an organization responsible for the quality of additives, Loginova stressed.
